\\\EYE CAN DANCE///

solo exhibition

I have been teaching some art classes
to group of high school students
at an Art Center down in
Mountain View, CA.
It has been a really amazing experience.
It all started last May with a
drawing class.
They offered me a show in their gallery
at that time. The now part is here.
The loby of the school is a really
beautiful gallery space.
I feel honored to have my paintings
on the walls.
If you find yourself down the peninsula
between now and then
stop by.
There will be snacks and
light beer
on Friday 2/11.
I'll even share some nuggets of insight
about my practice.
Until then...

For this show I have constructed a site-specific installation with string. The show title is the same title as the piece. I first conceived of the idea about two years ago and am very excited to have the oportunity to build it for you. Hope you can make it by.

I had a nice studio visit with
Obi Kaufmann. He posted some really great stuff on his blog. check it out.

  cream from the top

Hand picked from the MFA programs around the Bay Area, I made it into the CREAM from the top show at the Richmond Art Center.

I am very stoked to be apart of this exhibition. There is also a selection of artists in a second location at the Marin Moca. It is worth your while to get out to both shows.

I have two new pieces and one of my thesis pieces peanut butter cups in this show!!!

"Digital Panes"

Episco Disco is here once again! This time I get to bring the visuals. Very very psych'd about this. I will be making some video pieces for this evening of awesome. One to be projected (giant style) on the pipe organ wall.

Jonas Reinhardt will be bringing the infectious grooves to blow your mind. DJ set by BT Magnum.

At long last my video is up and live on the information super speedway. Isn't technology great!

'well it's a delicate line
we draw it in pink
we draw it in white
so take your time with it
yeah take your time'

On April 16, 2008 I bought a bag of potatoes, and I shaved my head, except for my eyebrows. Un-maintained by shear or clipper, I took a photo everyday. I did not cut my hair again until April 15, 2009. I patched these photographs together to create a time lapse video relating these spuds to the human condition.

Chandra Cerrito has curated me into a three person show that is based on a premise of artists that also find themselves as preparators. Pretty sweet. The work is amazing, and I like my work in the show too! Her gallery is in the loft space above Mercury 20 on Grand Avenue. Come check it out.

That's me, taking a knee, there on the bottom right. My good friend, and classmate,
Gina Tuzzi made a painting that became our image as Young Americans.

I, along with 9 other very talented individuals, have just completed graduate school and are bonified Masters of Fine Art. Look out world.

Our thesis show will be on exhibit through
May 31, 2009 at the Mills College Art Museum.
It is quite an amazing show, if I do say so myself.

A show of paintings that express a view of beauty by simplicity and tranquility. Simplicity in mark making and tranquility in the intended emotion. Straddling the line of harmony and dissonance in color and composition.
